Desmond turns 2

We've made a habit over the last two years of just celebrating Desmond's birthday on Memorial Day.  It works because he was actually born on Memorial Day and Wes has it off, so its the perfect time for birthday celebrations with our adorable baby boy.  Today, we had a small little party for him that was just us and we sang, ate ice cream cake, and opened presents from grandparents.  It was a pretty perfect day.  (Other than Scarlett constantly trying to "help" him open his presents and "teach" him how to play with all of his new toys.)

Desmond is usually ready to go with a smile on his face.

He can sometimes throw 3-5 fits a day (I'm just keeping it real!) usually over not getting what he wants when he wants it, but he's also quick to love and fulfill your every desire for hugs and kisses from him.  This picture kills me, btw.  I love it so much.

He loves balloons,

being outdoors,

going fast,

making new friends,

trying new things,

watching t.v.,

forcing his sister to cuddle,

getting attention from his sister,

wearing his sister's shoes, especially her boots,

and mostly being loved (even if it is from a giant mouse!)

Sometimes things are a little too scary even for Desmond and he's thankful that he has his sister to hold his hand during those moments and help him through it.

I am so grateful that this little guy came to us.  We are so blessed to see his smiling face everyday and to hear his little man chuckles!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Desmond!

I just love this blog. It suits Desmond to a "t". He is so sweet (except for the meltdowns, though he does bounce right back). Wish I had been there for his celebration. Missing too many birthdays.

Thoroughly delightful. I, too, wish I could enjoy more
moments with the
grandchildren.
